50 Years of Color Revolution from Fashion to Design and Branding
Since the beginning of time, color had been playing major part on how we see or define things. For example, if an apple without color, will we know its an apple? Our brain usually define an object based on the item color.
Well enough on the scientific facts, today i will be taking a time backward for 50 years and see how color had been a tipping point on culture, fashion, design and brand revolution. The importance of color and the psychological influence it has on a customer when they see point of purchase displays, signs, or on everyday objects should not be underestimated.
Color has been evolving through out the time. It define many culture expression and attitude since the 60’s. Not only they impact the obvious social revolution but also music culture re juvenile. I bet you still remember during 60’s and 70’s, color was one the highlight for a ‘hippie‘ revolution – a youth movement that arose in the United States during the mid-1960s and spread to other countries around the world.
Back then you can see colorful graffiti and fashion all around you. People walking around wearing colorful and bright color clothing. In present day, wearing too much color for clothing are not so cool and one might be call ‘crazy’ if do so. I guess color did play a big part of fashion culture revolution.
