Earlier last month, i’ve written a blog post regarding Yahoo! 30 days logo redesign campaign. Just couple days ago, Yahoo! finally unveiled their permanent new logo.

What do I Think About The New Yahoo! Logo

It really turns out better than i expected. When the 30 days campaign begin, the variation of new Yahoo! logo were not quite impressive. Some received negative critics from Yahoo! community in their day by day logo board.

The new logo uses the font Optima and the colour Pantone Violet C. It’s a much cleaner design compared to the original, while retaining elements such as the exclamation mark, the slightly enlarged second ‘O’ and the purple colour that’s been in place since 2009.

The embosses depth may seem 2005 but i really love it in the new logo. I think Yahoo! design team wanted to stay away from the Cliché of ‘Flat’ logo design. Sometime a little depth perspective in logo design is better. With the growing of mobile usage, Yahoo! design team really make a tremendous effort for making the new logo works really well in smaller screen size. When i view the official logo in iphone and ipad and it is clear and crisp as expected so finally i would like to say KUDOS! to the Yahoo! logo redesign team.
